Gates India organizes its 2017 Annual Sales & Distributors Conference in Pattaya
Gates India organized its Annual S ales & Distributors Conference on March 23 rd – 26 th 2017 at Dusit Thani ,
Pattaya to strengthen its bonds with its business partners and show its appreciation for the efforts made by its
channel partners in jointly serving the consumers.
This was first ever conference held under the umbrella of “ One India Gates ” with Power Transmission and Fluid Power Sales teams and Distributors coming together for this annual event.
During the sales conference on the first day, Gates Business Mangers and Application Engineers shared the
success of 2016, current opportunities and objective s for 2017 and road map to reach the goals for 2020 . This was
followed by the Distributor conference on second day . 33 number of t op performing Gates d istributors across
India were invited for the event, Mr. TS Khoo, President East Asia & India shared the Vision 20 20 and Miyamoto,
Shuji - san, Representative Director Gates Unitta Asia Company from Japan , delved on the years of successful
Industrial business at Japan, to be emulated in the region. Rajesh Bhandari M.D. Gates India shared the specific
objectives for 2017 and articulated the goal of $150 M by 2020 in India. Distributors actively participated
in the four break out groups, sharing their valuable feedback on specific initiatives . Top performing Associates
and the Distributors were rewarded by the leadership.
On the third day all the participants enjoyed the many attractions on the beaches, creating a great deal of bonhomie and energy to work towards the 2017 and beyond goals.

Gates India Suppliers Meet, Dec 2015
Gates India organized Suppliers Meet on 14th Dec 2015, at The Pride Plaza, Aerocity, New Delhi, for a selected list of Suppliers covering our hose and assembly business, to share the business plans, expectations from supply chain and growth opportunities for the Suppliers.
The program kicked off with a keynote address on ‘’GROW PLAN’’ presented by Rajesh C. Bhandari, MD - Gates India. Rajesh shared insights on Gates India Product Portfolio, markets served, industry trends, customer expectations and our growth plans for 2016 and beyond. He provided a succinct overview on where we are today, where we will be in progressing in the coming years and the Gates strategy for this: New product introductions, Customer base expansion and exports.
This was followed by the address of Vivekanand Kumar, Plant Manager, Lalru who shared the hose production and quality trends and outlook for the coming year. Sandeep Kalia, Head-Procurement, elaborated on the key objectives for the supply chain, targets and how the business growth is offering a win-win solution for the suppliers and Gates. Saji Thomas, Plant Manager, Faridabad shared the progress of the assembly business, concerns of last year and the initiatives taken to overcome them. Parveen Kaushik, Manager Purchase explained the GROW PLAN meaning in terms of Procurement and also laid out the expectations on quality, on time delivery, cost savings, development speed and the need of local suppliers to be globally involved with Gates. Electronic Supplier Portal Launch was also unveiled in the forum.
The meeting provided a wonderful opportunity to the Suppliers for interacting with the Gates team from various functions and appreciate the growth opportunities at Gates and the performance expectations.

Gates India - Ready for Next Phase of Growth
30th May- 2nd June 2015 : Gates India conducted the Annual Sales and Distributor conference in Hong Kong to provide a common platform for all the high performing Distributors to come under one roof and share experiences as well as explore new business opportunities. Gates India capitalized on this opportunity to launch new products and maintain our innovation edge and leadership in the market.
wenty five distributors from across the country participated in the Conference and presented plans to grow the business through a focused end market strategy and by working in close partnership with Gates, they have successfully been able to leverage our brand, products and to expedite the execution of their growth plans. Informative sessions were used to educate and exchange customer and end market specific actions. All Distributors participated with zeal and enthusiasm, especially as it was first Overseas Conference for them. They showed their commitment to Gates by striving towards higher growth targets and were proud to share their success stories in key end markets/customers and thereby building the trust and partnership approach with Gates for many years to come. They acknowledged the commercial and application support along with strong service levels provided by Gates as a key factor driving success.
REACH OUT was the theme for the overall Conference which focused on avenues such as - Reach Out to New Customers , New End Markets , New Applications and New Industries to accelerate mutual growth .
This provided an opportunity to introspect the current market positions, understand the challenges and gear up for the future. The gathering allowed the leaders to set the tone for the future and firm up growth strategies to focus upon.
Gates used this platform to launch new products which will constitute a large part of Gates sales portfolio going forward. The Gates team along with key distributors launched seven new products : 24 4XH Spiral Hose ,Pilot line Hose ,Governor Hose ,Sewer Jetting Hose, Carbon free Hose in large diameters,, Carbon free Hose with Ceramic / Fiber Glass cover and Fly Ash Hose.
The product launch was followed by an awards ceremony, wherein the best performing distributors and employees were recognized and rewarded for their achievement in driving business growth. The launch and the overall event was well received, and we expect the learnings shared will fuel our objective of doubling the turnover and further strengthen our market leadership position.
Sales & Distributors Conference
The Annual Sales and Distributors conference of Gates India was organized in Goa from 10th - 12th June'14. The agenda was to appreciate the hard work and efforts put by the team and channel partners. Also to set the pace for resurgent Indian infrastructure boom.
The theme of Xcellence, Xperience and Xcelleration was thus carefully chosen to capture the three key components of future growth.

drove the agenda about the business objectives with future prospects of Industrial Segment. He acknowledged the Xcellence and Xperience of channel partners for the mutual Xcelleration and growth of businesses and focused to move forward with same positive and healthy attitude to grab the opportunities in future.
The Channel Partners and Gates team enthused with past performance and were looking forward to growth prospects in likely economic revival.

During the meet, Mr.Nitin, Mr. Bhandari, Mr. Sundar with other product heads unveiled the products AG R1 /R2 Hose (as per New SAE 100 R1/R2 & EN853), M2T, 4XH Hose (EN 856 Type 4SH),Plaster Hose and Sever Jetty Hose with Local Manufacturing Belts and Timing pulleys with new product strategies to increase the customer satisfaction in order to meet the Xcelleration objectives.
After the hard work of two days, Gates team let their hairs down and put to test the idiom, Work hard party harder. Awards for merit, special achievements were given. Heroes, Relationship believers and leaders were honored and acknowledged. A gala night was the height with Entertaining performances and spirited enjoyment by Gates Family.

Gates India provides a wide range of products and services in order to comprehensively respond to our customer's increasing performance expectations. Recently , as a part of such efforts, the company began providing product and service training to their distributors next generation and named Genext Training in order to deepen the understanding of Gates India offerings and its advantage in raising the value of their offering to their customers and differentiate from competition.
The training session for distributors held over two days 19th -20th Feb’15 at the recently commissioned Pune Assembly Plant at Chakan. Eleven distributors from different parts of the country participated. The training covered - Introduction to Hose and Couplings, Value Selling Case Studies and Safe assembly manufacturing process. It will help next generation to expand their horizon and understandings towards Gates system selling approach and value addition which will help them grow their business.
Session was conducted smoothly by Mr. R. Rajasekhar , GM- Training & Marketing , Mr. Manvinder Singh Warne - Deputy Manager-Design and Mr. Aamit Bhandari –Product specialist. The training included sharing of real life experiences with each other.
During the session lots of questions being asked and clarified by instructors followed by feedback session at the end of the program. This kind of program always helped people to interact , share and implement some good ideas in their work place .
This kind of initiative will act as a step towards more focused approach to share knowledge of Gates Value connection with Channel Partners which may lead to mutual futuristic growth.
Strategic Meet 2015
Parwanoo , Jan. 10th-11th 2015:
Gates India Pvt. Ltd., a renowned brand worldwide in Hose Assemblies, organized its 1st Strategic Meet on 10th-11th Jan’15 at Timber Trail, Parwanoo as an initiative towards doubling the turnover in 2015. The objective of two day program was to bring top management and departmental heads of purchase, finance, technical, operations, sales and marketing together with their teams for open house discussion and to prepare the strategy mutually for doubling the turnover in FY 2015 profitably.
Mr. Bhandari , Managing Director- Gates India addressed and encouraged the attendees to achieve the business goals as a team . He unveiled the theme for 2015 i.e. PRO+FIT +ABLE, and motivated all present to achieve it in business as well as personal outlook.
To focus more, participants were segregated into 4 different cross functional groups, then discussed new projects in respective focus groups to withhold the agenda of profitable 2015 .The event was very well perceived and appreciated by all.

Annual Distributor Meet
Gurgaon, 6th-8th June, 2013: Gates India conducted three day annual distributor meet, providing a common platform for all the distributors of the organization to come together to interact, share experiences and to explore new business avenues and opportunities that exists in the current market scenario. Gates also took this opportunity to provide an edge to the organizations portfolio by launching new products in the market. The occasion was graced by Mr. Jagjit Singh, Chairman of Imperial Auto who despite his busy schedule graced us as the chief guest. All the top distributors of the organization participated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. They not only showed their commitment but also their eagerness by exchanging their market knowledge and information therefore building and cementing the trust and partnership with Gates for years to come.
The first day was reserved for an interaction with the Power Transmission Distributor’s. About 15 distributors from across the country participated in the meet and used the occasion to present what Gates had made to their lives. Informative sessions were used to educate and exchange market specifics. As Dippak Thukral of DNA quoted “It was a knowledgeable session where we learnt and shared many things with each other. It is not always about the price of the product; sometimes its trust and I have trust on Gates so I choose to be a premium distributor of Gates. Also, the most important thing that helps us to bring more customers is the technology and value proposition used by Gates”.
The evening was reserved for celebration as Gates used the platform to launch new products which will constitute a part of Gates portfolio going forward. Our chief guest, Jagjit Singh ji along Nitin Kaul, President of Gates in India and Rajesh Bhandari, Vice President revealed the launch of four new products; The Concrete Hose, The AG Hose, Timing Pulley and the PU Belts. The product launch was followed by a short program wherein the best performing distributors and employees were recognized and rewarded for all the hard work they had put around the year. The chief guest as well as other dignitaries congratulated all the distributors and employees on their achievements and motivated them to keep the momentum growing. The night called for a celebration, and the same was facilitated by the by a colorful gala night where every participant enjoyed the evening to the rhythm of the music.
The second day was reserved for an interaction with the Fluid Power Distributor’s. 24 distributors came forth to participate in the meet. This fraternity highlight was that four distributors came in with their next generation showing trust with Gates developed over years and for many more years to come. The sessions on the day two provided an opportunity for the distributors to come forward and share not only their experiences but also their concerns for the market and issues at large. They got an opportunity to interact with the sales employees and gather information and knowledge pertaining to various products available in Gates portfolio and its usages.
Third and the last day was utilized as a Sales Conference, where in all the employee got an opportunity to come together and discuss on the learning’s gathered from the two days of interaction with the distributors. This allowed them an opportunity to introspect their current positions, understand the challenges and gear up for the future. The gathering allowed the leaders to set the tone for the months to come and to discuss and firm up the strategies for the next year.
The product launch and the event was well received, and we are determined that the learning’s shared and gathered will help shape up the organization to get it ready for maintaining leadership in the years to come. Gates is committed to work along with their distributors, their partners; and are looking forward to invest by training them, investing in branding along with them and by further enhancing the trust and relationships.
Gates Regional Distributor Meet
Gates upper North distributor meet was held at Lalru plant on 21st and 22nd Jan 2013. Gates distributors from upper north were invited at Lalru plant for an interactive session, plant visit, product training and elucidating of marketing activities from Gates.
Gates Power Transmission distributors were invited on 21st Jan 2013 and Gates Fluid Power Distributors were invited on 22nd Jan 2013.
Gates distributors gave an overwhelming response. The distributor meet for both Power Transmission and Fluid Power distributors concluded with a very fruitful interactive session in which distributors voiced their concern and solutions were contrived with mutual agreement to pacify these concerns.
Dealer Training Program in South
To further upgrade and strengthen the value offered by Gates products and services, a one-day training program was organized in Bangalore on August 18, 2011, with the aim of propagating continuous improvement. The training was imparted on Complete Fluid Power Solutions provided by Gates, including Hoses, Couplings, and Complementary Products, with a focus on System Selling Approach. Gates team understands that training is an integral part of growth and needs to be given to channel partners across India, to realize this vision the first of its kind training was held at Bangalore, which was well-appreciated by the attendees. Training was imparted by Mr. Dinesh Sharma & Mr. Raj Iyer, Business Managers, After Market, who shared their experience and expertise in this field with the dealers. Emphasis was laid on the combined use of Gates Branded products and their benefits which serve as an answer all fluid-conveyance problems.
Distributor Training Program
Gates wished to welcome new members to its Channel Partner family in a unique way. All such New Distributors who had joined Gates in the recent past were invited to a two day retreat to Chandigarh. Day one they were shown around the most modern Hose Manufacturing facility at Lalru, followed by Training Sessions on various products, systems and applications. The faculty members were chosen from subject experts and senior engineers from Gates. The day ended with a formal dinner and get-together with Gates Management and Sales/Marketing Team.
Day two was allocated to site-seeing and a trip to neighbouring Shiwalik Hills. At Timber Trail Heights, Parwanoo, a training workshop on Leadership was conducted to mix business with pleasure. Games on Team Building were enjoyed by one and all present. Few Senior Channel Partners helped mentor and build confidence of the new joinees, who all went back with sweet memories of the trip.
