Gates updates Drive Systems Catalogue with new products and references

Gates has released a new version of its Drive Systems Catalogue for passenger cars and light-duty commercial vehicles with 245 newly added references.   The 2009 version features the recently introduced range of torsional vibration dampers and also the extensive range of tools for belt drive maintenance.
Gates Drive Systems Catalogue is a complete reference work offering application data for belts, kits, tensioners and other belt drive system components such as the recently introduced torsional vibration dampers (TVD’s). This essential component reduces vibrations of the crankshaft and is best replaced together with the multi-ribbed belt for a continued smooth operation of the accessory belt drive system. Images of the OE-equivalent TVD’s are also featured in the catalogue with useful mentioning of the component dimensions.
Also to be found in the updated catalogue, is the extensive automotive tool range. With drive belt set-ups becoming more and more engine-specific the need for specialised tooling is no longer an option but a must. Gates has more than 30 engine-specific tools in its range, the references of which have now also been added to the application data chapter in the catalogue.
Another improvement is the addition of technical bulletin references. Gates’ technical bulletins contain installation tips and guidelines and are available to every mechanic. This information can be engine-specific or more general and is developed to help mechanics to do a perfect replacement job. Gates has numerous of these bulletins available in 10 languages. When looking for the reference of a particular replacement part in the Gates catalogue, mechanics are now immediately informed of the availability of technical information.
The complete reference work is also available online at to make product search even easier.
