The Austrian company Gföllner manufactures trailers, truck bodies and mobile space modules and is known as a supplier of custom-designed and specialised solutions for the transport sector. When designing a new truck body they found that the hydraulic assemblies did not meet the expectations. We’ll make them ourselves, is what they decided. And so they did. With a little help from Ulmer Technik, a Gates Distributor and Gates’ integrated MegaSys Pressure hydraulic programme.
Gföllner, Fahrzeugbau und Containertechnik GmbH, Grieskirchen, had quite some problems with the fluid power transmission system used to lift and steer the videowall on one of the latest truck bodies they developed. The ready-made hydraulic assembly they installed definitely did not do a proper job. As custom-design is practically Gföllner’s trademark, they decided to search for a high-performance and versatile hydraulic system they could modify and assemble themselves. Who else but Ulmer Technik, Gates’ international Hose and Connector and Power Transmission Partner (headquartered in Linz, Austria) could provide them with exactly the technical support and know-how they needed to solve their problem?
Ulmer suggested making use of Gates’ integrated hydraulic programme, including the spiral wire and wire braid MegaSys Pressure hoses, the no-skive MegaCrimp® and GlobalSpiral™ couplings and the MC3000 powerful crimper. These products are all fully compatible with each other and the Gates MC3000 crimper allows fast, efficient and factory quality assembly. Furthermore these global products are all the same high-quality, regardless of the Gates factory where they are built.
Building their own assemblies was indeed the best choice Gföllner could make. Thanks to Ulmer’s hydraulic expertise and Gates’ integrated product line Gföllner kept fully in control of their production and could maintain the high-quality and specialised solutions they are used to offering the transport sector
