Gates present at Automechika 2004

This year again, The Gates Corporation is present at the Automechanika trade show 2004 in Frankfurt (Germany) September 14 through 19.  At Europe’s senior Aftermarket show Gates will exhibit its extensive automotive product range and will focus on its technical added value in Hall 2.0, Stand C97.

The fair will be the platform to illustrate the company’s recent evolution from a supplier of separate products into a provider of complete systems.  The recent line extensions are to be seen in that perspective.  In the “belts and drive systems” range for example, Gates recently launched DriveAlign® tensioners for accessory belt drive systems.  As a major supplier for automatic OE belt tensioners in Europe, Gates can rely on a tradition of quality and know-how to supply the aftermarket with tensioners of OE quality.

“Next to high-quality products, Gates believes that sharing its technical know-how is the key to reliable car repairs and servicing,” says Chris Arnold, Business Development Manager for Gates Europe.  “Professional tools for belt installation and maintenance, a series of training evenings for mechanics organised all over Europe and technical literature are much appreciated and have proven to be very effective”, Arnold continues.  Gates latest professional tool kit for belt drive systems, called “Dr. Gates”, contains several practical tools, such as a pulley alignment tool, sprocket locking devices, a tensioner retaining pin set and a stethoscope, all arranged in one practical case.  Gates' sonic belt tension tester STT-1 is also included in the kit, as well as a practical headlamp, a belt installation CD-ROM and a white marker to make indications on a belt.  The Gates stand will contain an important area for live training sessions that will be alternated with training videos on a large screen.

At the show, Gates also pays special attention to its heavy duty / commercial vehicle product range that has recently been expanded.  The Heavy Duty programme under the Gates Extra Service label already includes belts (V-belts and Micro-V®-belts), hoses, hose clamps and fuel caps for trucks, buses and tractors.  Gates is currently launching a new range of heavy-duty DriveAlign® tensioners that will be available soon.  Following the Gates system approach, these tensioners complete the belt drive product range.  Gates' Extra Service commercial vehicle programme is specially designed for trouble-free and long-lasting service in the demanding working conditions of vans, trucks, buses and tractors.  The products in this range are built to original equipment quality and offer excellent performance.
