Gates present at Automechanika 2006

This year again, the Gates Corporation is present at the Automechanika trade show in Frankfurt (Germany) September 12 through 17.  At Europe’s senior Aftermarket show Gates will exhibit its extensive automotive product range and will focus on its technical added value in Hall 2.0, Stand C97.

In the spotlight at the Gates stand will be the launch of the new Gates Extra Service Micro-V® XF multi-ribbed belt.  This high-performance OE equivalent belt is the perfect choice for serpentine drives and other heavy-duty ribbed applications.  Its new, improved construction ensures a longer belt life and excellent performance in all conditions.

Gates also presents its new Drive Systems catalogue, including all application data on Gates belts, kits and tensioners in 10 languages as well as the belt routing diagrammes for accessory belt drive systems.  Furthermore, Gates is launching an online multilingual application catalogue, to make product search even easier and to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Gates will also use this fair as a platform to present its new Pan-European team responsible for Technical Support and Training.  The brief is to develop training initiatives and technical service concepts that will support product development and sales.  One of the objectives is to increase awareness about the benefits of thorough drive system inspections and complete system overhauls as part of every scheduled accessory or synchronous belt change.

At the show, Gates also pays special attention to its professional automotive tool range.  Next to the existing tool range, including the sonic tension tester STT-1, the DriveAlign™ laser alignment device and the Dr. Gates professional tool kit, Gates will present a line of
4 universal and 11 engine-specific tool kits for synchronous and accessory belt drive systems, offering the ideal solution for every professional automotive technician.
