Hydraulic Safety at Your Fingertips

St. Neots - Safety and compliance to European legislation are important priorities at Gates Fluid Power Europe.  That’s why Gates launched the Safe Hydraulics preventive maintenance & hydraulic safety programme in Europe last year. Now, Gates brings the programme directly to the end-user’s desktop with the launch of Safety Tips, delivered weekly by e-mail.

Introducing Gates Safe Hydraulics “Safety Tips”, a weekly e-mail containing practical information on hydraulic hose assemblies and hydraulic safety, Gates supports its Safe Hydraulics Programme.  The tips are available in three languages (German, French and English) and everyone can register for them via

The Safe Hydraulics programme brings the Gates message of preventive maintenance and safety in a practical and easy to follow approach tailored to the needs of end-users.  The programme is only available via the Gates network of distributor-partners and covers the hydraulic hose assembly safety and preventive maintenance spectrum from beginning to end. The seminars also include an overview of the relevant EU legislation, complete with practical examples.

This week’s tip: “Fluid incompatibility is the probable cause of a swollen hose tube that will make fluid power equipment seem sluggish and unresponsive.  Many new fluids are now being promoted as "environmentally friendly," but may not necessarily be compatible with the hose.”
