Gates production plants certified to the “GOST R Rules certification system of motor vehicles and trailers”

After a complete inspection of Gates’ V-belt and multi-ribbed belt production units in Poland and Germany (Gates Polska Sp.z o.o. – Legnica and Gates GmbH – Aachen), Gates has been awarded the GOST R Rules “Certification system of motor vehicles and trailers” by NAMI-FUND.  Certification covers all production process for Gates drive belts and is valid for the next three years.

"NAMI-FOND" is the first Russian body, accredited by the National certification body (Gosstandart of Russia), for the certification of automotive products and spare parts for motor vehicles: tires, batteries, oils and oil additives, rubber technical products and others.  The NAMI-FUND delegation, represented by the experts of the Inspection Group, Mr Bykov and Mr Latyschev carried out a complete inspection of Gates’ production units in Germany and Poland.  

The inspection included: 
-         quality control of certified products and claims (receiving control, in-process control, final control; recording, inspection and storage of inspection and storage of inspection date)
-         test systems (testing centre, testing equipment, routine test reports, acceptance test reports, test frequency In accordance with the documentation and during production process; recording, inspection and storage test data)
-         metrological provision (the availability of periodic calibration schedules, devices and measuring and test equipment; the true state of periodic calibration, the carrying)out of periodic calibration schedules)
-         the product identification and the marking of products and covering documentation
-         the state of finished store and component store
-         the state  of certified product manufacture workshops, the audit of the fulfilment of documentation requirements related to inspection system during production process; the availability of product rejection site
-         the order of work concerning products inappropriate to standards
-         the process control, the statistical estimate and the regulation of process, the compliance with process rules
-         system of collection and treatment of quality information.   

Gates Europe General Sales Manager for Benelux, Central/Eastern Europe, the CIS, Middle East and Africa Peter Verdonckt, comments “For us this is a very prestigious certification.  It is the official recognition of the OE-equivalence of our products, an added value Gates has offered its customers for years.  Furthermore the certification includes that Gates has all rights to export its product to the Russian aftermarket, and also to supply product on OE level to the whole automotive industry.”

About NAMI-FOND

Established in 1919, NAMI - a main research and  technology centre for the Russian Automotive  Industry - set up the "NAMI Fond"  as the only body for certification of  complete and replacement parts for automotive vehicles and other means of transportation, that is recognised not only in Russia, but also all post-Soviet-Union countries. 

"NAMI-FOND" is the first Russian body, accredited by the National certification body (Gosstandart of Russia), for the certification of automotive products and spare parts for motor vehicles: tires, batteries, oils and oil additives, rubber technical products and others.  "NAMI-FOND" issues Russian certificates of conformity and licences to use the mark of conformity in term up to three years in case of favourable results of certification tests or the expertise of present documentation.  Tests and expertise are carried out by competent experts of Test Centre of automobile units and components.

During six-year activities more 18 thousands certificates of conformity have been issued, and over 50 thousand companies applied for this approval, but were rejected.  "NAMI-FOND" cooperates more than with 800 Russian and foreign firms.
