New look for Gates PowerGrip® boxes

Gates has introduced new packaging for its PowerGrip® timing belts.  The new stylish PowerGrip® box is sealed shut with hot melt glue to ensure the quality of the belt inside.  The box is designed for optimised use of cardboard and shelf space and offers all required information in 16 languages.  The contents of the new box is the same high-quality PowerGrip® timing belt as before.

NewPowerGripBoxThe new PowerGrip® box is sealed shut with hot melt glue to guarantee that the PowerGrip® belt inside has not been crimped or mishandled before the garage mechanic takes it out of the box for installation.  Moreover, the box has been designed to provide the best possible protection against crushing, direct sunlight or other conditions that might damage the belt.

Belt reference, bar code, general application information, detailed information on the timing marks needed for installation, drive layout, information on the use of the sonic tension tester STT-1 are all on the box in form of drawings, standard abbreviations and icons.  All other required information is on the box in 16 different languages. Each PowerGrip® box also contains a mileage sticker which is an easy way for the installer to inform the car driver about the need for timing belt replacement.

The packaging comes in 3 sizes, optimising use of cardboard and shelf space.  Furthermore, the new PowerGrip® timing belt box is made of 100% recyclable cardboard and printed with solvent free ink.  Gates brand new and state-of-the-art packaging line is ISO 14001 accredited, and it checks each individual box on weight and size, to make sure each box that is shipped is exactly as it should be.

The new look will gradually be applied to all Gates aftermarket packaging.
