While our numbering system is size significant, it is not sufficiently detailed for use in determining cross-overs for non-cataloged applications. Two of the key factors are angle and top width. Various angles have been used by OEMs, and applying a belt with an incorrect angle can result in very premature failures. Top width is critical to clutching action and often has to be adjusted for specific applications. These adjustments are not reflected in the nominal numbers used for the belt sizes.
The best way to find a belt for your application is to determine the proper OEM number and use our cross index to find the proper belt. If no interchange is listed, you can send an email to Mr. SnowBelt. Be sure to include the sled manufacturer's name, year, model, engine size (cc), and the OE part number.
