Gates Hose & Connectors Europe announce their presence at Smithfield 2004

(Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, 2 - 5 December ‘04)

St Neots – Gates Hose & Connectors Europe will be present at “Smithfield 2004”, UK's largest and most comprehensive business farming event.  Gates Hose & Connectors can be found at stand 598. The stand will not only showcase the Gates’ high-quality range of hoses and connectors for agricultural applications but also their integrated approach to achieving superior quality, safer hydraulic hose assemblies. Smithfield will also mark the much-anticipated Safe Hydraulics programme which brings the Gates message of preventive maintenance and safety in a practical and easy to follow approach tailored to the needs of end-users.

At the fair special attention will be given to the Gates XtraTuff™ and MegaTuff® hose.  These premium hoses take abrasion resistance to a new level, increasing assembly life significantly and making them the new standard of choice in highly abrasive agricultural environments and applications. Testing to ISO 6945 standards shows that the XtraTuff™ covering resists abrasion 25X longer than standard hose cover. The MegaTuff® hose cover resists abrasion even up to 300X longer than standard hose covers.

Another product in the spotlight will be TuffCoat™, a new, enhanced zinc-based coating for Gates hydraulic couplings providing an estimated four times greater corrosion resistance than standard zinc or cadmium plating.

The Safe Hydraulics programme, also presented at the Gates stand, covers the hydraulic hose assembly safety and preventive maintenance spectrum from beginning to end.  With this programme Gates Hose & Connectors Europe not only affirm their position as industry leaders but also their unwavering commitment to ensure that end-users are given all the tools needed to put them on the right track to safer, long-lasting, cost-efficient hydraulic assemblies. The Safe Hydraulics programme is only available via the Gates network of distributor-partners and is managed by Gates’ select corps of Application Engineers who ensure that the programme seminars – disseminated by a small group of certified trainers - are held to the highest standards of quality.
