Gates honoured as Supplier of the Year 2006 by Temot International.

Temot International Autoparts, an international group of leading warehouse distributors of automotive spare parts, has recognised Gates Power Transmission Europe with the ‘Best Preferred Supplier 2006’ award. The award was presented at the Temot International Event which took place in Noordwijk, The Netherlands from May 2 until May 4.

With this award Temot International voted Gates as best in class supplier of automotive spare parts for the year 2006. Selection criteria included product quality, pricing, market coverage, after sales support, marketing support, EDI capability, availability and communication on management and operational level.  Gates, the only ‘Partner’ Supplier at Temot International, thanks to the real global cooperation with Temot shareholders, scored above average in all categories with very high marks on product quality, market coverage and availability.

The award was presented to Gates by Fotios Katsardis, Managing Director of Temot International Autoparts and Frans Van Heck, Chairman of the Board at Temot International. An international delegation from Gates accepted the award, which included Giorgio Brusco, Vice President Automotive Aftermarket Europe and Jeff Brekke, Senior Vice President Automotive Aftermarket North America.  Brusco said: ‘This recognition by Temot International confirms to us that the efforts undertaken by Gates to provide superior service are truly making the difference to our customers. This motivates us even more to try to offer the best possible service to our distributors in order for them to stay strong and competitive in the automotive aftermarket.’ Katsardis added: ‘The award also illustrates the excellent global cooperation between Gates, AAPA and Temot International and is therefore not only recognition for a very good supplier but also for a really global one.’

The award was presented at the Temot International Event in Noordwijk in The Netherlands where all Temot shareholders and their suppliers had the opportunity to meet, share their knowledge and create opportunities for the future. During this event the importance and benefits arising from international cooperation were high on the agenda.
